Electronic communications - revision of settled fees for 2013

On 17 December 2015, ANACOM approved a draft decision concerning (i) the revision of relevant revenues reported for the year 2012, (ii) the review of the t2 rate for the year 2013, and (iii) an additional settlement of fees payable by suppliers of publicly available electronic communications networks and services in respect of 2013, due to a correction made to the value of relevant revenues reported for MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia (MEO) in accordance with the final values given regarding the net costs of universal service for the year 2012.

The downward adjustment of the value reported for MEO's relevant revenues resulted in a decrease in total relevant revenues reported for Tier 2 companies - suppliers of electronic communication networks and services, impacting the value of the t2 contribution percentage. For 2013, this percentage increased from 0.5485% to 0.5491%.

The new t2 percentage entails a review of corresponding settlements made for 2013 by suppliers of electronic communication networks and services.

This draft decision was submitted to a prior hearing for a period of 15 days so that interested companies might comment.
