Before commencing their activity, registered entities are required to give ANACOM notice of the services that they intend to provide. In doing so, providers must give their name, address and other contact details, and give details of the general conditions which will govern provision of the services concerned. They must also, simultaneously or subsequently, request the allocation of access codes by ANACOM, submitting an application with the following items:
- an express declaration providing a detailed description of the service that the provider proposes to offer;
- a technical plan identifying the equipment to be used;
- indication of the provider of supporting services.
The access codes will be allocated by ANACOM within 15 days following receipt of the specified items.
Provision of audiotext services in Portugal is also permitted using access codes from numbering plans of other Member States of the European Union or of the European Economic Area in which the provider is established.
