Geneva hosted from 25 August to 1 September a meeting of working party group 4-9S of Study Group 4 (WP4-9S), which covers issues involving sharing between fixed satellite service (FSS) and fixed service (FS).
The work was carried out in two subgroups, responsible for the following topics:
- Subgroup 4-9S 1: Issues involving stations installed in high altitude platforms (HAPS) with respect to item 1.8 of the World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC-07) agenda;
- Subgroup 4-9S 2: Issues involving highly inclined orbit (HIO) satellites, with respect to item 1.18 of the WRC-07 agenda.
The work led to the production of eight documents, of which the following stand out:
- Draft CPM Text regarding item 1.8 of the Agenda;
- Draft CPM Text regarding item 1.18 of the Agenda;
- Preliminary draft for a new Recommendation (PDNR) ITU-R SF.[4-9S/HAPS-PLIMIT] concerning the methodology to determine the power level of HAPS terrestrial stations in order to facilitate sharing with space station receivers in the 47.2-47.5 GHz and 47.9-48.2 GHz bands.
