Hungary and Portugal - Communications Regulators sign new MoU (Draft Press Release)

A new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Communications Authority of Hungary (NCAH) and the Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ICP-ANACOM) was signed in Budapest today.

Both Mr. Dániel Pataki President of NCAH and Mr. Pedro Duarte Neves President of the Board of ICP-ANACOM believe that this MoU will contribute to the improvement of the relations between the two Authorities. On a broader extent it will also contribute to the development and promotion of the communications sector and to the economic development and social welfare of the populations of the two countries.

The new agreement that is now in force has improved the foundations and mechanisms on which the relationship between the two entities is based and will also strengthen cooperation in the European Union context.

Both Presidents share a desire to maintain regular contacts that will allow the two Administrations to develop practical cooperation on matters relating to the regulation of communications. They are also committed to promoting mutual assistance and consultation, and to sharing their views, concerns and experiences at a European level.

ANACOM invited NCAH officials to visit Portugal, offering to host the next high-level meeting to set out the priorities for cooperation and to identify possible joint actions for the future.
