The first 'International Postal Regulation Colloquium' organised by Ecuador’s National Postal Agency (ANC) and Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society (MINTEL), jointly with the Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (UPAEP), was held last 12-14 May in Quito.
Besides covering postal sector regulation in Ecuador (with speeches on behalf of MINTEL, the ANC and the Ecuadorian postal service, among others), presentations were given on postal regulation in Brazil (by the Brazilian Communications Ministry), Portugal (ANACOM) and Uruguay (Communication Services Regulatory Unit - URSEC). Presentations were also given by the UPAEP and the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The colloquium was attended by representatives from various UPAEP countries.
