Highlights of the December 2009 issue of the Spectru monthly bulletin include reports on the auction to award frequency usage rights for broadband wireless access (BWA), whose application deadline is 17 December, on updating technical specifications for radio interfaces and on telecommunications infrastructures. The latter specifically refer to public consultation on procedures for evaluating telecommunications infrastructures in buildings (known as ITED) and telecommunications infrastructures in housing estates, urban developments and groups of buildings (ITUR), approval of final texts of the ITED Manual (2nd edition) and ITUR Manual (1st edition), and publication of new models for ITUR terms of responsibility.
The issue also includes data on evolution of the number of unbundled accesses and ANACOM’s decision not to oppose the entrance into force on 1 January 2010 of the proposed residential rates for fixed telephone service in the scope of universal service submitted by PT Comunicações (PTC). Also covered are the EU’s approval of the Telecom Package, public consultations on calculating the cost of capital of PTC and on the draft RCAO, and publication of 3rd quarter 2009 statistics on electronic communications.
