In the three years and five months since its public launch on 28 July 2005, the Tariff Monitor has seen a total of around 112.8 thousand accesses and has been used to make a total of around 166.2 thousand simulation operations.

Among the range of tools available - monthly consumption, call and message comparison, virtual calls and messages - the use of the call and message comparison tool has proved to be especially popular. According to available data, up to 31 December 2008, around 97 thousand tariff consultations and 45.3 thousand calls or message comparisons have been carried out by users. This corresponds, respectively, to around 58.4% and 27.3% of the all simulation operations performed.

The Tariff Monitor is a simulator developed by ANACOM with the cooperation of the three mobile operators (Optimus/Sonaecom, TMN and Vodafone). It is a free service that gives private consumers the information they need to assess and compare the various tariff alternatives for mobile telephone service available in Portugal.
