Meeting of Contact Network of Spam Authorities - Brussels


Brussels hosted last 18 February the 14th meeting of the Contact Network of Spam Authorities (CNSA), encompassing national authorities with powers in the area of unsolicited communications (spam).

The gathering included presentation of the study conducted in various member States on the subject of ''actions adopted to fight spam, spyware and malware''. A presentation was also given about the activity of RIPE (network of European IPs), one of the five entities for registering the allocation of internet resources, registering services and co-ordinating internet operational support activities worldwide. Information was also exchanged about progress on the regulatory package for electronic communications. Lastly, note the presentation of ''best practices'' on the part of Sweden (PTS), the Netherlands (OPTA) and France (''Signal Spam'' in co-operation with the CNIL).
