Recruitment of the director of the Galileo joint undertaking


The deadline for submitting applications for the post of director of the Galileo joint undertaking has been extended until 3 March 2003 as published in Download file OJEU C42 A/1, of 21 February 2003 (The information provided belongs to OJEU).

The main tasks associated with this post are, namely:

- to lead the joint undertaking in the tasks as outlined in the status (available upon request at Tren-Galileo@cec.eu.intmailto:Tren-Galileo@cec.eu.int);
- to organize, direct and supervise the staff of the Joint Undertaking;
- to prepare the draft annual budget;
- to draw up and regularly update the Galileo programme development.

Qualifications required for this post:

- university degree or equivalent giving entitlement to undertake postgraduate studies;
- at least 15-years professional experience, preferable in a field relevant to the missions of the joint undertaking;
- proven capacity to lead an organization;
- a thorough knowledge of at least one language of the EU and  satisfactory knowledge of one other of those languages;
- candidates must be nationals of an European Union or European Space Agency (ESA) Member State.

The joint undertaking was established by the EC Regulations adopted on 26 March 2002 by the European Union Councilhttp://ec.europa.eu/transport/galileo/index_en.htm, as operational body to implement the development phase of the European Galileo satellite radio-navigation programme, its seat being established in Brussels (Belgium).
