Regional television in Castelo Branco

The Cybercentre Association of Castelo Branco and Localvisão TV made a public presentation, on 3 April, on the regional television project ''Localvisão TV'', which will begin regular web TV broadcasts in the district of Castelo Branco.

This project, which involves the promotion of 11 municipal channels, aims to promote and raise the region's profile in the country and the world, serving as a point of convergence for immigrant communities. Over the medium term, this partnership will also create an integrated network, because each Cybercentre (Bragança, Guarda, Guimarães and now Castelo Branco) has its own content selection and production and independent management, while using the Internet as a common platform.

The project also will encourage the involvement of the regions in the production of audiovisual content, with each municipality contributing with local content, which can be accessed by anyone, anywhere (as web TV, can be accessed by anyone with an Internet connection anywhere in the world).

The project will also give a boost to partnerships with local educational establishments, especially those with journalism, media and audiovisual component in their curriculums, with the Cybercentre taking on the role of laboratory and training centre, since the staff involved in content production mostly recent graduates.

Cybercentre of Castelo Branco, like other Cybercentres whose establishment was promoted by ANACOM and by Fundação para a Divulgação das Tecnologias de Informação (Foundation for the Dissemination of Information Technology), has the objective of giving young people and economic agents in each region the appetite for information technology, multimedia and communication.
