Mobile Services - statistical indicators (draft decision)

By determination of 25 March 2009, ANACOM approved the draft decision on the statistical indicators to be sent to this Authority on a quarterly basis by the mobile service providers, which will be subject to a previous hearing of the interested parties, under the terms of articles 100 and 101 of the Administrative Procedure Code, during 25 working days.

It also decided to revoke the set of indicators applying to mobile services as from the moment that the new indicators start being reported by the operators.

This decision is made in connection, namely, with new requests that have been emerging internationally and to which ANACOM must respond, to the technological and commercial evolutions that took place since the approval of the forms previously in force and those that are expected in a near future, to the advantages of integrating the information collected on mobile services from several scopes, thus ensuring the comparability of the collected indicators, as well as to the requests and suggestions from operators concerning details for roaming traffic and network indicators.

These indicators do not include the services that are classified from the regulatory viewpoint as a telephone service provided at a fixed location (e.g. offers supported on GSM/UMTS frequencies) and which statistics are reported using their specific questionnaire(s).
