ANACOM approved, by a determination of 18 March 2009, the conclusions of the public consultation on the development of an electronic communications infrastructure records system.
It also approved the report of the consultation, launched on 3 September 2007, in the scope of which the following entities stated their opinions: Onitelecom, PT Multimédia/TV Cabo, Sonaecom SG, University of Aveiro and INESC Porto, Vodafone Portugal, ESRI Portugal, COLT Telecom and PT Group. An individual contribution was also received.
As a result of the approved conclusions, ANACOM considers that the consultation's purpose has been accomplished, while its analysis and the correspondent contributions were taken into account within the scope of another consultation procedure by this Authority, on the regulatory approach to next generation networks (NGN), which was closed in February this year. Also taken into account were the contents of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 120/2008 of 30 July and the public consultation on the draft decree-law that will define the regime applying to the construction, access and installation of electronic communications networks and infrastructure, launched by the Government on 6 March 2009. In fact, within the scope of this regime, it will be up to ANACOM to conceive, manage and maintain a centralized information system (CIS).
