Cooperation - Training on ''Strategies for Universal Access''

As part of the 2009 training plan for the Centre of Excellence of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for Portuguese and Spanish speaking African countries, a training course will be held on ''Strategies for Universal Access'' in São Tomé, capital of São Tomé and Príncipe, between 23 and 26 March.

The course, hosted by AGER, São Tomé and Príncipe's regulator, will be led by a Leader Expert from the ITU and two consultants from ANATEL, the Brazilian telecommunications regulator. The training will centre on the legal and regulatory strategies which allow the comparison of best practices and regional and international approaches, as well as access to funds and their management, focusing also on the technological impact.

This event follows the workshop held on the topic of ''Regulation in Telecommunications'' in Maputo, Mozambique, from 16 to 20 February 2009.
