ECC TG4 - Riga

The 10th meeting of ECC TG4 was held last 9-12 September in the Latvian capital Riga.

In the wake of the second European Commission mandate concerning the digital dividend, and the ECC's clarification of the responsibilities of each of the three groups (ECC PT1, PT SE42 and ECC TG4) that carry out work and studies on the digital dividend at CEPT level, this group's terms of reference have been changed, with TG4 now charged with producing four reports, to wit:

Report A - Guildelines for frontier co-ordination, of mobile services in one country and broadcasting services in the neighbouring country;

Report B - Recommendation on the best way to ensure the maintenance of existing equipment for programme making and special events (PMSE) operating in the 460-862 MHz band, including an evaluation of the advantages of setting a strategy at European level;

Report C - Recommendation concerning a possible re-organisation of GE06 planned coverage for broadcasting service, so as to free up the 790-862 MHz sub-band;

Report D - Results of measurements of the protection relationships, to protect broadcasting service from mobile service, so as to help the administrations assess compatibility.

Report A will be completed in March 2009 (at the 22nd ECC meeting), while the other three will be completed in June 2009 (at the 23rd ECC meeting).
