4th Meeting ECC WG FM PT45 - Copenhagen

/ Updated on 13.07.2007

Copenhagen hosted last 18-19 June the fourth meeting of project team FM PT 45 of the working group on Frequency Management (WG FM) of the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC).

In previous meetings, this group prepared a report in reply to the EC Mandate for harmonisation of the 1452-1479.5 MHz band in the European Union, so as to enable in the short term its flexible use by mobile multimedia technologies. In the follow-up, it prepared a partial draft revision of the 2002 Maastricht Agreement (MA02), as well as another draft revision of the 1995 Wiesbaden Agreement. Both draft revisions of the aforesaid agreements were submitted last May to WG FM, which made a number of editorial improvements and sent them to be submitted for approval at the CEPT Multilateral Conferences to take place in the Romanian city of Constanza during the ECC meeting this 2-6 July.

Two other reports have meanwhile been finalised, one on the conversion in VHF of adjudications of digital terrestrial television (DVB-T) broadcasting systems, and another on the introduction of Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) in the LF/MF bands. Both were considered a basis for ECC draft reports and will thus be submitted for WG FM approval.
