Organised by the Romanian administration (IGCTI) and under CEPT, the group WGFM PT22, which covers spectrum monitoring, met last 17-20 April in the Romanian city of Timisoara.
Among other issues on the meeting agenda were: the continued preparation of a report on coverage and quality measuring for the cellular networks (GSM and UMTS), definition of the methods to measure powerline communications and to measure modulation potential (MPX), and preparation of a report on various matters involving the definition, choice and maintenance of a remote monitoring site. The European Air Navigation Safety Organisation (Eurocontrol) took part in the meeting with a view to exchanging ideas and experiences in the area of aerial communications, and to enabling a future monitoring campaign in the respective frequency bands.
