For the eighth consecutive year, ANACOM releases its Statistical Yearbook on the communications sector.
This publication is one of the corollaries of the data gathering, handling and releasing process that is part of ANACOM's duties as the sector's regulatory authority. The Statistical Yearbook contains a summed up set of organized data that will hopefully be a useful tool to the market and its various players, the general public and also to ANACOM's own activity.
More than just fulfilling the duties stemming from its statute as a regulatory authority, ANACOM's aim with this publication - which is considered part of a strategic guideline of its activity - is to improve knowledge within the sector and, namely, to assure that all people can access information, for consumers to make the best choices and for service providers to make the best decisions.
We owe an appreciation note to all those who collaborated in the several editions of this Yearbook by sending in due time all the data that was requested from them. Without this cooperation, this publication would not have been possible. We truly hope and hereby ask that all those whose contribution to future editions will be requested will continue to work with ANACOM in the pursuit of this project's continuous improvement.
Lastly, and as in previous years, we hereby renew ANACOM's commitment to reach higher levels of data accuracy, reliability, and quality, by further improving the process of gathering, handling and timely releasing relevant statistics.
