The 16th meeting of the EUTELSAT IGO Advisory Committee was held on 6 April in Paris, to prepare for the upcoming (extraordinary) Assembly of Parties, which will be held on 11 May.

The following stand out among the issues covered at this meeting:

 - Launch of the EUTELSAT IGO website on the internet, at www.eutelsatigo.int , containing two distinct parts, a free-access public part, providing generic information about the organisation, its activities, history, members and basic documentation; and a second part with restricted access.

 - Draft amendment no. 3 to the agreement between EUTELSAT IGO and the company EUTELSAT SA;

 - Release of a report on compliance with the base principles by EUTELSAT SA;

 - Completion of the Advisory Committee draft report for the 34th (extraordinary) Assembly of Parties.

Other issues were also covered, such as the proposal to change the business structure of EUTELSAT SA, payments owed to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as a result of the company?s satellite network notifications to that organisation, and the study on the conditions for using the frequencies allocated to EUTELSAT SA space stations.

The next meeting of the Advisory Committee has been scheduled for 5 October 2006.
