The Postal Directive Committee met on 1 December 2005 in Brussels, where various sector-related subjects were discussed, specifically the issue of state aid under the European Community Treaty.
The participants also reviewed the status of actions that were ongoing or to be carried out in 2006, of which the following stand out:
- the ongoing public consultation on the postal sector, launched by the EC in November 2005;
- the launch of two new studies on the postal sector.
The issues of postal service quality and the gathering and disclosure of sector statistics were also considered.
