CPG PT1 - Vilnius

The fifth meeting of project team PT1 of CEPT?s Conference Preparatory Group (CPG07) was held on 19-21 September 2005 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The group?s aim is to study regulatory aspects and procedures inherent to the topics on the agenda of the next World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC), to be held in 2007.

The meeting counted the presence of 35 participants, including observers from the Radiocommunications Bureau (BR), the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (CITEL) and the NATO Frequency Management Sub-Committee (FMSC).

PT1 proceeded to revise the support documents (briefs) for WRC07 agenda theme topics 1.10 (regulatory procedures and technical criteria associated to possible revision of Appendix 30B), 1.12 (simplification of the satellite network co-ordination and notification procedures) and 4 (revision of the resolutions and recommendations from previous conferences with a view to their possible substitution or withdrawal). It also drafted the first version of the brief for item 2 (incorporation for reference of ITU-R (ITU Radiocommunications Sector) Recommendations).

These briefs will be subject to revision at the next meeting of this PT on 21-23 November 2005 at the ERO offices in Copenhagen, to be held ahead of the CPG meeting scheduled for January 2006.
