Plenary meeting - Munich

The CERP plenary session was held in Munich on 2-3 June. The various CERP working groups reported on their activity, namely the joint meeting of the working groups on Economic Issues, Regulatory Issues and UPU Issues held last April in Lisbon, and also the meetings of the Steering Committee, the Standardisation WG, the various Contact Committees and the Best Practices Forum which was held the day before the plenary session. Also noteworthy were the presentations given by the European Commission, Eurostat, the European association of envelope manufacturers (FEDMA) and the European direct mail federation (FEPE).

Also, regarding the Universal Postal Union (UPU), presentations were also given on progress made by the Council of Administration and the respective committees and working groups, and on the activities and priorities of the Advisory Committee.

The meeting also saw elections for the positions of the CERP president (Jean-Luc Dutordoit, Belgium) and vice-presidents (Ulrich Damman, Germany, and John Hearn, Ireland), and presentation of this Committee?s new organisational structure, which will hence comprise three working groups: Political Issues, Economic Issues and Market Data and Supervision.

The next CERP plenary meeting will be held next October in Turkey.
