Final report on the general consultation procedure within the scope of the FWA

Today the final report on ANACOM?s action framework proposal for FWA is disclosed, submitted to the general consultation procedure under the terms of article 8 of Law no. 5/2004, which presents a summary of the 10 received contributions (SGC Telecom Group; ONITELECOM;  Novis Telecom; Vodafone Portugal; T Comunicações;TVTEL; Apritel; Datalink; SAMaccess) and ANACOM?s understanding on this matter. The report in question was approved by determination of 24 June.

Simultaneously, it was also decided to send to the Government a draft order in council presenting, among other aspects, the reformulation of the FWA licensing model, ensuring to all operators, should they wish so, the continuity in the use of the frequency bands allocated as long as they are effectively being used, considering the possibility of allocating new use rights to the companies that apply to it, with a defined geographic basis, applying the principle of equal treatment between PTC and the other operators, allowing the use of these frequency bands in the transmission network and reformulating the radio rates system.
