The working group (WG) on Universal Postal Union (UPU) Reorganisation met in Montevideo on 17 March, along with the working sub-group on Future Development of the UPAEP.
The WG decided to propose to the Council the expansion of its mandate to cover issues concerning the UPU?s strategy planning, so that the UPAEP can take part and transmit its opinion in that field and intervene in drawing up the future Bucharest proposal, which will be discussed and presented at the UPU Congress in 2004.
The group also decided to set up an ad hoc group comprising Brazil, Canada and Spain, which will draw up an action plan based on the strategy plan approved in the UPU?s Postal Operations Council when it meets in April 2003.
