The first meeting of this group was held on 9-10 January, largely stimulated by the Portuguese administration as acting president of the ITU Council.
The encounter served to define the group?s working programme and method, and established the schedule of actions and the division of labour between its members. The next meeting, on 12-14 February, should include an exhaustive survey of information and documentation on current methods of ITU management, along with the work and studies previously carried out in this area.
One of the most relevant decisions made at the Marrakech Plenipotentiary Conference (PP02) instructed the ITU Council to constitute an experts group to review the organisation?s management. It would count one representative of each of its five administrative regions and submit its results at the next ordinary session of the ITU Council in May 2003.
