On 7 February 2024, the Board of Directors (BoD) ratified the decision taken by the Chair of the BoD on 2 February approving the Regulation on requirements to be met by providers of publicly available electronic communication services to ensure equivalent access and choice for disabled end-users.
The report of the public consultation on the draft regulationhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1751461, which was approved on 29 August, was also approved on the same date, and within the framework of which contributions were received by the deadline from the following entities: Associação Cabra Cega, Associação Portuguesa de Deficientes (the Portuguese Association of Disabled People), Federação Portuguesa de Autismo (the Portuguese Autism Federation), MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia, NOWO Communications, Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais and a private individual.
The BoD decided also to publish the Regulation in Series II of the Official Gazette.
