ANACOM participates in the seminar "Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities, Risks and Regulation"


The Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANACOM, João Cadete de Matos, participated in the opening session of the seminar “Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities, Risks and Regulation”, held on 2 October at Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (the School of Economics and Management) of Universidade de Lisboa and in online format.

This seminar, organised by Instituto de Políticas Públicas (IPP - the Institute for Public Policy) on behalf of the PromethEUs network, aimed to launch a debate between different stakeholders from Southern European countries (Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain) on future European Union legislation in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The event was based on a joint document that the PromethEUs network is preparing on AI legislation from a multifaceted perspective, focusing on regulatory, political, geopolitical aspects, the impact of generative AI, AI readiness and economic potential.
