ANACOM's Geospatial Platform receives international award in the USA

ANACOM’s Geospatial Platform, which allows its users to access a range of geo-referenced information on the electronic communications and postal services sector, has won the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award.

This platform, which will soon be available to the public, has been developed to allow users to access a range of geo-referenced information on the sector through an interactive map, and will be accessible from a fixed or mobile device (web-responsive).

On 14 July, this ANACOM platform received the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award, announced at a conference held between 10 and 14 July in San Diego, United States of America. This award recognises the most innovative and distinctive projects in a list that includes projects developed by organisations from all over the world. At the national level, in addition to the ANACOM platform, a project by NOVA IMS also received an award.

The award was presented to Luís Alexandre Correia, Deputy Director-General of ANACOM’s Directorate-General for Information and Innovation, by Jack Dangermond, President of the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI).
