Members of the project team on Number Portability and Switching (PT NPS) of the ECC’s WG NaN held a videoconference last 9 and 10 June, attended by 19 participants representing 12 CEPT countries, one participant from the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), Japan’s historic operator, as an observer, and one participant from the European Communications Office (ECO).
Two ECC reports were reviewed, on:
- Number routing and portability in a total IP environment;
- CLI spoofing.
Two recommendations were also reviewed:
- ECC/REC(04)04 - Data-only terminals that do not use E.164 numbers for their services;
- ECTRA/REC(01)04 - TETRA ITSI numbering resource and its relationship to E.212 IMSI numbering resource.
The working group will advise maintaining the first recommendation, while the second recommendation will be revised to update it.
This working group’s next meeting is scheduled for October 2020.
