ANACOM promotes DTT network migration process at town and city councils

ANACOM has been actively informing the Intermunicipal Communities so that the town and city councils are aware of the process of migration of the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) transmitter network, which started on 7 February and will end in July, with this process being necessary to enable advancing with the implementation of 5G.

The aim is for the different town and city councils that are part of the Intermunicipal Communities to be informed about the process: what will happen, when, where and what people will have to do to adapt to this switchover, so as to be able to support their citizens in this process. In addition to explaining about the free number 800 102 002, to which people can call to obtain information and support for the retuning of their equipment, ANACOM also describes the provision of technical teams that can help people to retune their televisions or DTT set up boxes, when they are unable to do so on their own or with the support of the ANACOM call centre.

On 10 March, an informative action was carried out at CIMBSE - Comunidade Intermunicipal das Beiras e Serra da Estrela (Intermunicipal Community of Beiras and Serra da Estrela). On Monday, 9 March, it was the turn of CIM Comunidade Intermunicipal da Região de Leiria (Intermunicipal Community of the Region of Leiria), and on the 6 March a dissemination session on the DTT migration process was held with the Comunidade Intermunicipal do Médio Tejo ((Intermunicipal Community of the Middle Tejo).

Up to date, ANACOM has already conducted these actions among 10 Intermunicipal Communities, covering a total of 130 town and city councils.
