Meeting of ECC WG NaN - November 2019


ECC WG NaN met last 19-21 November in Copenhagen at the invitation of the Danish regulator Energistyrelsen/Danish Energy Agency (ENS).

WG NaN is a working group in which regulators participate. It debates issues of common interest regarding numbering and the impact of technological developments on regulation of the electronic communication sector. Its work serves to produce reports, recommendations and decisions meant to facilitate harmonised regulatory development of related matters in Europe.

In the wake of the respective public consultation, the following recommendation was adopted for publication at this meeting:

  • ECC Recommendation (19)03 – Measures for increasing trust in calling line identification and originating identification, available at: ECC Recommendation (19)03 https://www.ecodocdb.dk/download/675ad3ab-e72d/ECCRec1903.pdf .

The following drafts and reports were also approved for public consultation after the notification period (2 weeks):

  • Draft ECC Report 311 – Sub-assignment and number hosting – implementation models, rights of use and obligations for E.164 numbers across the electronic communications supply chain.
  • Draft ECC Report 312 – Measuring, evaluating and presenting comparable information on mobile internet access service quality.

The aforementioned public consultations will be duly posted on the website of the European Communications Office (ECO) (ECC Consultation http://www.cept.org/ecc/tools-and-services/ecc-public-consultation). Eventual interested parties can submit responses before the set deadlines directly to the ECO contact points indicated in the respective address.

This working group’s next meeting will be held in May 2020.
