BEREC End Users EWG - October 2019

The End Users working group (End Users EWG) met last 18 October in Brussels.

The meeting served to provide information about new projects to include in the BEREC working programme for 2020, to wit: i) expert workshop with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on quality of service; ii) report on how to handle third party payment charges on mobile phone bills; and iii) report on penalties.

Presentations were also given and the current situation reported on various project requirement definitions (PRDs) followed by this group, namely: i) BEREC-BEUC workshop to move towards a vision for Europe’s telecoms consumers; ii) BEREC guidelines on QoS parameters of IAS publicly-available ICS and the publication of information; iii) BEREC input to the European Commission implementing act on contract summary template; iv) summary report on fraud and misuse cases; and v) BEREC report on member-states’ best practices to support the defining of adequate broadband internet access service. Note, regarding the last one, that ANACOM has directly followed this PRD as a drafter; after the group’s general meeting the work continued with a drafters meeting to finish the questions that should be included in the document that will be placed under public consultation in December 2019.

The next general meeting of End Users EWG is scheduled for 28 January 2020.
