The WG NaN Strategy Forum Group met last 19-20 March in the German city of Mainz, at the invitation of the German regulator.
The meeting, attended by most WG NaN chairs and vice-chairs and the group’s four work teams, served to discuss various strategic aspects of WG NaN.
Progress was particularly made on the report about the future of numbering and regulatory impacts associated to the electronic communications sector. Plans call for work on that report (“Towards 2025 – A vision for numbering and networks”) to continue throughout 2018.
Also analysed was information about good practices for managing and assigning numbering resources applied in various CEPT countries. Arrangements were also made to hold a CEPT workshop on the role of numbers in fraud, planned for December 2018.
This meeting will hold its next attended meeting in September 2018.
