Lisbon hosted last 19-20 March a meeting of Technical Committee 46X (telecommunication cables) and Subcommittees 46XA (coaxial cables) and 46XC (multi-conductor transmission cables, in pairs or quads 3).
The group representing the European communications cable industry counted the presence of experts from France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Germany and Portugal. The Portuguese delegation was led by ANACOM and included members from national technical committee CTE 46 of General Cable, the Institute of Welding and Quality and the Superior Technical Institute.
The main aim of TC46X is to harmonise European standards and also to draw up new standards in the area of telecommunication cables.
