4th meeting of CPG PTB - September 2017


The fourth meeting of project team B (PTB) of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG) was held last 12-15 September at the European Communications Office (ECO) in Copenhagen, chaired by Stanislava Tereschenko and attended by 50 delegates representing 14 administrations, as well as representatives from the secretariat of the International Telecommunication Union Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R), the ECO, regional organisations and satellite operators.

The meeting approved the updates of the briefs (documents used as technical support to draw up and justify European common proposals) for all items under the group’s responsibility, specifically concerning revision of the limits contained in annex 7 of Ap. 30 (satellite broadcasting service plans), use of the 27.5-29.5 GHz (up) and 17.7-19.7 GHz (down) bands by ESIMs (CMS1), the regulatory framework for non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellites in the Q/V bands, the revision and if necessary modification of the procedures for early publication, coordination and registration of satellite systems and networks, technical and regulatory questions applicable to NGSO FSS in the 3700-4200 MHz, 4500-4800 MHz, 5925-6425 MHz and 6725-7025 MHz bands, national management of non-authorised terminal transmissions, and spectrum requisites and possible allocation of the 51.4-52.4 GHz band for FSS (up).

The next meeting of CPG PTB is scheduled for 6-8 December 2017.
