Copenhagen hosted last 6-7 September a meeting of Com-ITU. This Portugal-chaired committee is responsible for European coordination with a view to participation in activities of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The gathering mainly focused on preparing Europe’s participation in this year’s World Telecommunications Development Conference (WTDC-17), to be held on 8-20 October in Buenos Aires, Argentina; the second set of European common proposals to submit to WTDC-17 was approved.
The group also prepared the brief for WTDC-17, the document containing CEPT’s internal positions on the various points to be discussed at the conference.
Com-ITU also supported the list of candidates for the Telecommunications Development Advisory Group (TDAG) and for study groups 1 and 2, as well as the list of candidates for WTDC-17 supervisory positions.
The next Com-ITU meeting will be held on 13-16 December 2018 in Copenhagen.
