ERGP plenary meeting and workshop on efficiency - June 2017

The ERGP plenary meeting was held last 23 June in Budapest, Hungary. The discussion focused on the 2018 ERGP working programme, which establishes actions to be carried out by the group during that year, according to its mid-term strategy.

On the other hand, the roadmap on ERGP efficiency was approved. It sets priorities and determines measures meant to ensure that the ERGP performs its tasks more efficiently and effectively.

The plenary session also took note of the efforts of the ERGP working groups, namely focusing on regulatory accounting/price regulation, implementation and evolution of universal service obligations, postal service user satisfaction and market monitoring, e-commerce parcel delivery and network access regimes.

It was also confirmed that the ERGP will help the European Commission implement the regulation on cross-border parcel delivery services; note was taken of the general approach agreed on by the European Council last 9 June.

The meeting also saw the approval of Jack Hamande, member of the board of directors of the Belgian regulator (BIPT), as chair of the ERGP in 2018.

The plenary meeting was preceded on 22 June by an internal workshop on ERGP efficiency, which served to discuss measures of the roadmap for ERGP efficiency.
