3rd meeting of CPG PTB - Copenhagen


The European Communications Office (ECO) premises in Copenhagen hosted last 7-9 February the third meeting of project team B (PTB) of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG), chaired by Stanislava Tereschenko and attended by 53 delegates representing 15 administrations, along with representatives from the ITU-R (International Telecommmunication Union Radiocommunication Secretariat) secretariat, the ECO, regional organisations and satellite operators.

The gathering served to approve the updated briefs (documents used as technical support to produce and justify European common proposals) for all items this group is responsible for, specifically concerning revision of the limits contained in Annex 7 of Ap.30 (BSS plans), use of the 27.5-29.5 GHz (up) and 17.7-19.7 GHz (down) bands by ESIMs, the regulatory framework for NGSOs in the Q/V bands, revision and if necessary modification of the procedures for early publication, coordination and registration of satellite networks and systems, technical and regulatory questions applicable to NGSO FSS in the 3700-4200 MHz, 4500-4800 MHz, 5925-6425 MHz and 6725-7025 MHz bands, national management of transmissions from unauthorised terminals, and spectrum requirements and possible allocation of the 51.4-52.4 GHz band to FSS (up).
