2nd meeting of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG-19) - Feusisberg

The second meeting of the CEPT CPG for the next World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19) preparation cycle took place last 6-9 December in Feusisberg, Switzerland, chaired by Alexander Kühn of Germany. It was attended by 96 delegates from 23 administrations, 15 observers and one representative each from the European Commission and the ECO.

The CPG-19 group is responsible for preparing CEPT for WRC-19. At its first meeting it therefore created four project teams http://www.cept.org/ecc/groups/ecc/cpg/page/cpg19-structure/ responsible for discussion and development of briefs and, if consensual, European common proposals (ECPs) for each of the WRC-19 agenda items http://www.cept.org/ecc/groups/ecc/cpg/page/cept-briefs-and-ecps-for-wrc-19/ assigned to them, which are then submitted for discussion and approval by CPG-19. Agenda topic 10 (WRC-23 agenda) will meanwhile be debated in CPG-19 itself, while topic 1.13 (Spectrum for mobile/IMT above 6 GHz) will be dealt with in the ECC PT1 group, which basically covers all issues associated to mobile service in CEPT.

The heads of the CPG-19 project teams presented a summary of work carried out in the first meetings of the respective groups. At this second CPG-19 meeting they also provided the first drafts of the briefs on various WRC-19 agenda points, indicating whenever possible/consensual a proposed preliminary CEPT position. The WRC-19 preparation cycle is still in the early phase, so no ECPs for CPG-19 consideration have been prepared and presented yet.

The CPG-19 group’s next meeting will be held this coming 14-17 March 2017 in Austria.
