Meeting of ECC WG FM PT22 - Budapest

The offices of Hungary’s National Communications Authority (NMHH) in Budapest hosted last 12-15 April a meeting of Frequency Management working group (WG FM) project team 22 (PT22) on spectrum monitoring and control and enforcement, attended by representatives of 24 countries and three organisations along with one observer, for a total of 55 delegates.

The following issues were notably considered:

1) Continuity of work to draw up the recommendation on measurement uncertainties;

2) Recommendation for measurement of radiated power in the FM band using field strength measurements;

3) Report on evaluation of LTE coverage.

Responses to the European questionnaire that gathered statistics on the number of detected interferences were studied, with the resulting compilation and analysis to be forwarded to WG FM. Also reviewed were responses to the specific questionnaire on use of DECT 6.0 (American standard) devices in CEPT countries.

As there was no support from the other administrations, it was not possible to make progress on revising Recommendation REC(05)01 on harmonisation of automatic measuring methods and data transfer for frequency band registration, assigned to Portugal. A first approach to the possibility of measuring radiated power in the 6 GHz band by using field strength measurements was done. However, the countries must still conduct more tests to evaluate its feasibility.

The next meeting will be held this coming 3-6 October at ECC headquarters in Copenhagen.
