A workshop jointly organised by BEREC and the Radio Spectrum Policy Group was held last 24 May in Brussels and focused on the issue of facilitating access to radio spectrum in the EU framework. The participants included various national regulatory authorities (NRAs) and European Commission (EC) representatives.
Several presentations were given during the workshop, including one by the EC specifically on the regulatory framework review in the spectrum context, and others by some of the NRAs, namely those of France, the United Kingdom and Sweden (on their respective experiences and concerns about spectrum allocation procedures), and one operator, Tele2 (about its expectations regarding decisions on spectrum). The workshop also discussed a number of more specific subjects, such as European consistency or coordination, public policies, auction design and competition and investment.
