BEREC-IRG Contact Network meeting - Budapest


Budapest hosted last 12-13 May a meeting of the Contact Network of BEREC and the IRG.

The gathering’s aim was to prepare for the next plenary meeting of BEREC and the IRG, to be held in June.

The following issues were discussed:

  • Net Neutrality guidelines deriving from implementation of the Regulations;
  • the proposed common position on layer 2 wholesale access products and the report on “Challenges and Drivers of NGA Rollout and Infrastructure Competition”, both in the scope of the expert working group on Next Generation Networks;
  • the revised Recommendation on Termination Rates, in the scope of the expert working group on Remedies;
  • the report on the Termination Rates benchmark and information about the Information Sharing Portal, in the scope of the expert working group on Benchmarking.

The current situation of roaming was also reviewed, specifically regarding BEREC’s contribution to the fair use policy implementing acts and the sustainability mechanisms.
