1st meeting of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG 19) - Bonn


The first meeting of the European preparation cycle for the 2019 World Radicommunication Conference (WRC-19) took place in Bonn, Germany, last 12-14 April, under the responsibility of CEPT’s CPG and chaired by Alexander Kühn of Germany. A total of 89 delegates from 22 administrations participated, along with seven observers and representatives of the European Commission and the Radiocommunication Sector of the International Telecommunication Union.

This meeting basically focused on approval of the group’s structure, appointment of the CPG vice-chairs and heads of the project groups, assignment of the WRC-19 agenda points for each group and the naming of CEPT coordinators for each of the agenda items.

In sum, a structure of four project teams was approved (A - space science issues, B - satellites, C - aeronautic and maritime, and D - amateurs and 5 GHz band), besides project team 1 of the ECC, which be responsible for issues involving mobile services, including international mobile telecommunications.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6-9 December in Pfeffikon, Switzerland. The first project team meetings will meanwhile begin, starting in June.
