On 25 June 2015, ANACOM approved the report on the prior hearing and consultation concerning the definition of terrestrial coverage obligations to be included in the right of use of frequencies (ICP-ANACOM no. 06/2008) allocated to MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia (formerly PT Comunicações) in the context of digital terrestrial television (DTT), following ANACOM's decision of 4 July 2014https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1282553. In this context, responses were received from the following undertakings: DECO - Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor (Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection), Blogue TDT em Portugal, Ricardo Jorge, RTP, SIC and TVI.
Approval has also been given to a new draft decision on the definition of terrestrial coverage obligations and the amendment of the DTT right of use of frequencies; this was submitted to the prior hearing of MEO and to the general consultation procedure set out in article 8 of Lei das Comunicações Eletrónicas (Electronic Communications Lawhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?categoryId=333114). Under both procedures, interested parties have been given a period of 20 working days to respond, in writing and in Portuguese.
