At ANACOM’s invitation, Lisbon hosted last 4-5 December 2014 a meeting of the Number Portability working group (WG NP). This working group develops studies, reports and recommendations concerning aspects associated to number portability.
At this meeting the work focused on drawing up the following documents:
- Report on the impact of eventual permission for bodies without portability responsibilities/obligations to access number portability databases. Following approval and publication of this report, after public consultation procedure, plans also call for a recommendation on this subject to be produced;
- Report studying the consequences and impacts of flexible use of numbers as calling line identifiers (CLI) in the origin of a communication.
This working group will next meet in March 2015.
