Suspension of restrictions on access to "760" numbering range

By determination of 30 October 2014, ANACOM has approved the application of urgent measures to Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais (Vodafone Portugal) in respect of the "760" numbering range.

The determination refers to measures unilaterally imposed by Vodafone Portugal, restricting access to the "760" numbering range by users with prepaid tariffs. These measures are deemed likely to create economic or operational problems for other providers or users of electronic communications services or networks as well as for other users of numbering resources.

ICP-ANACOM has determined that the company:

  • immediately lift its restriction on access to the "760" numbering range imposed on subscribers with prepaid tariffs, entailing a requirement to create and top up a second balance, and that it include information about this suspension, as well as information on how to use any second balance credited in the meantime, on its website.
  • in the event that immediate suspension is not possible, the company shall carry out these instructions as soon as possible and at the latest within ten working days of this decision's notification;
  • inform ANACOM as to the adopted procedures within 10 working days;
  • state its position, if it so sees fit, within 10 working days of the present decision of ANACOM.

Under the terms of the present determination, this decision shall remain in force for a period of 3 months or until such time as a final decision is issued.
