  • ANACOM approves launch of a public consultation on the final results of the audit of the net costs of universal service re-submitted by PT Comunicações, in respect of the 2010 and 2011 financial years.
  • Publication of Decree-Law no. 136/2014 of 9 September, enacting the thirteenth amendment to Decree-Law no. 555/99 of 16 December, which establishes the legal framework governing urban development and building construction.
  • International Telecommunication Union (ITU), United Nations Children's Fund and partners of the Child Online Protection Initiative launch updated guidelines aimed at protecting children using the Internet.
  • ANACOM grants PT Comunicações a temporary network licence for 180 days, in context of digital terrestrial television (DTT).
  • Publication of Order no. 11258-B/2014 of 5 September, establishing the unit sale price of shares in CTT - Correios de Portugal, in the context of the process of direct institutional sale.
  • Publication of Resolution of Council of Ministers no. 54-A/2014 of 4 September, which defines the conditions governing the direct institutional sale with or without accelerated placement, approves the respective sale specifications and likewise sets out the conditions applicable to the unit sale price of the shares corresponding to the remaining social capital of CTT -  Correios de Portugal.

August

  • ANACOM approves review of the value of the costs of regulating the activity of provider of electronic communications networks and services.
  • Publication of Resolution of Council of Ministers no. 52/2014, on 29 August, which approves the distribution of compensation for 2014 among the different companies providing public service.
  • ANACOM sets objectives and rules governing the density of the postal network and minimum services and approves draft decision on information to be provided by CTT - Correios de Portugal.
  • ANACOM approves final decision on the assessment of the mobile electronic communications market pursuant to article 39 of the Multiband auction regulation.

  • European Parliament approves provision of a sum of one billion euros to support pan-European digital services and high-speed broadband networks as part of the Connecting Europe Facility, seeking to improve European transport, energy and digital technology networks.
  • Publication of Order no. 3117/2014 of 25 February, which determines the creation of the eCall Working Group (GTeCall).
  • ANACOM announces resolution of the situation of non-compliance with portability obligations by the company Mundio Mobile, following a decision to suspend the company's activity and revoke rights of use of numbering.
  • ANACOM approves final decisions on the methodology to be used for calculating the net cost of the universal postal service and the concept of unfair financial burden for the purposes of compensating the net cost of the universal service.
  • ANACOM announces new DTT signal monitoring project, supported by a network of innovative probes with using Portuguese technology.
  • ANACOM decides not to oppose the transfer, to the title of ONITELECOM - Infocomunicações, of the right of use of frequencies allocated to F300 - Fiber Communications for the operation of broadband wireless systems.
