Brussels hosted last 5 February the fourth meeting of the Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue Comparison Tools (MSDCT) group of the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) of the European Commission (EC).
Highlights included the presentations concerning national experiences in the scope of comparison tools:
i) Study on “Comparison tools and related third-party verification schemes”, by Ipsos, Deloitte and London Economics;
ii) “Consumer Futures’ research on price comparison websites”, by Marzena Lipman of Consumer Futures.
The participants also provided a short update regarding latest developments in the represented sectors of their countries (e.g. telecommunications, energy, tourism, food, etc). They also considered the subject of best practices at the level of initiatives meant to raise consumer awareness about the existence and function of comparison tools.
The next meeting was scheduled for 5 March 2014.
