BEREC publishes 12th international roaming report

The Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) has released its 12th report on international roaming on European public mobile communications networks. This report presents the results of the twelfth round of data collection on roaming, which was conducted by BEREC through national regulatory authorities (NRA) and which covers the period between 1 April and 30 September 2013. The document also includes information from previous reports, as a measure of progress.

The data is collected pursuant to the Roaming Regulation - Regulation (EU) no. 531/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 June 2012 - on roaming on public mobile communications networks within the European Union (EU), which applies to the EU and to Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland (European Economic Area - EEA1).  The Regulation includes the establishment of maximum limits for regulated wholesale and retail roaming tariffs for voice communication, short messaging service (SMS) and roaming data services.

The BEREC study reveals that levels of compliance with the regulation remain high in all EEA countries . The report also includes the evolution in roaming pricing reported in the different countries analyzed.
