Decision to suspend the activity of Mundio Mobile

By determination of 13 February 2014, ANACOM has ordered suspension of the activity pursued by Mundio Mobile as a provider of the mobile telephone services in the form of virtual mobile network operator (MVNO), including the short message service (SMS) and data service. This suspension remains in force pending resolution of the situation of non-compliance that gives basis to application of the measure and takes effect 17 days after Mundio Mobile receives notification.  ANACOM will publicise the date on which the suspension will become effective.

ANACOM also decided to revoke the rights of use of numbering allocated to Mundio Mobile, for a quarantine period counted from the date that the activity is suspended.  The revocation excludes rights of use relating to numbers that have already been ported.

Under the present suspension and revocation, Mundio Mobile is barred from originating or terminating calls and text and data messages on its network. At the same time, companies which offer publicly available electronic communication services are networks will be unable to route communications to and from numbering ranges allocated on a primary basis to Mundio Mobile (where not ported to other operators), as well as numbers ported to Mundio Mobile based on the network routing numbers (NRN) in the "019" range.
