DTT - ANACOM announces new signal monitoring project

At its offices in Lisbon today, ANACOM hosted a session to present a new project to monitor the digital terrestrial television (DTT) signal; the operation will be supported by an innovative network of probes exclusively comprising Portuguese technology.

The global technological solution was specified by ANACOM and was developed and implemented by the Portuguese companies Ubiwhere and Wavecom. The scientific supervision is to be carried out by a team of professors and researchers from Universidade do Porto's Faculty of Engineering and INESC Technology and Science (INESC TEC).

The session, which saw a demonstration of the monitoring system's technical features, was attended by the Chairman of ANACOM's Management Board, Fátima Barros, and Management Board member Hélder Vasconcelos.

Implementation of this project was previously subject to international tender, which was launch following approval by ANACOM by determination of 21 January 2013.
